NOTE: Scratch is owned and copyrighted by the M.I.T.

The Scratch 0.x and 1.x Pack includes all currently found versions of Scratch made with Squeak. Versions are dated 2003-Dec 2006 (0.x) and Jan 2007-2009/2010 (1.x).

All versions have also been turned into .exe files.

  • Scratch 1.2 was the last version to support Windows 98 and ME/2000.
  • It is unknown if Scratch 0.x and 1.0-1.2 support Windows 95 or 3.1.
  • 28Feb05 is the first version to have an identical layout to Scratch 1.x.
  • Scratch 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 were not publicly released, hence they may have bugs.
  • Scratch 1.2's beta version included in the pack include an early version of the Comments feature, as a block. It was removed in the final release of 1.2 because of new Scratchers getting confused.
  • This pack does NOT include Scratch 2.x's beta versions.
  • You MUST have at least 1.5 gigabytes of free space in the C: drive to install the ZIP file included. The file size when uncompressed is approx. 1.4 gigabytes.

Install instructions

This pack does not include an installer, hence the uninstallers in all versions have been removed.

Note that this is WINDOWS only.

To install, you need a Windows XP computer or later. It must also be a 32-bit or 64-bit computer.

It's ideal to run this on a Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer.

The installing and extracting process might be slow depending on how good your computer is. It took approx. 40 minutes to copy and compress the source folder so I could upload it.

Some versions of Scratch may not be interactable until a few seconds (around 15-20 seconds) after running the application.
